Happy New Year!

Overall, a look back on the last 12 months is full of joyful memories.

I spent three days per week working in Quincy and was able to spend time with my family and friends. Bowling league lasted until April followed by four months of sand volleyball. My social calendar was pretty full up until I found out I was pregnant in June.  At that point I had to back down my activity level to make sure my health and the baby's health was my number one priority.  Those 100 degree+ summer evenings ended some of my volleyball playing.

The best day of my life was May 7, 2011.  Our wedding day was perfect - but even better than that specific day is knowing I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.  I don't want to get too mushy and lovey-dovey but let me just say that Jonathan is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me and I will forever thank God for bringing this loving, supportive, funny, sweet man into my life.

It's hard to believe I am 36 weeks pregnant... that means I was pregnant for two-thirds of the past year and only have about four more weeks to go!  I feel so lucky to have had such a smooth pregnancy; I'm praying that labor and delivery go as smoothly!

Calvin Bailey is going to make 2012 so special for Jonathan and I!  I can't even begin to guess what kind of adventures these next 12 months will bring, but I think it's going to be even better than the amazing past year we experienced.  I have some specific goals for the year, although I know these will probably evolve once Calvin gets here and time goes on!

1.   Run my first 5K on the first weekend of May
2.  Lose all of the baby weight by July 1
3.  Stick with the breastfeeding - one of my best friends who is a mom told me her mantra during those first weeks when things got frustrating or difficult was "Breast is Best"
4.  Lose an extra 10lbs (that I've been carrying around for the past couple of years) by September 1
5.  Be the best wife, mommy, and friend that I can be :)

Yes, most of these resolutions have to deal with weight, but sometimes that's all I can think about when I look in the mirror and see what looks to be a beach ball shoved under my shirt.  I'm just looking forward to holding my baby boy and finally being back to my normal size!

Happy New Year everyone!  May good luck and prosperity find you this year!
