Two Days Left!

We are down to the wire... within the next 48 hours or so we will be welcoming our baby boy, Calvin, into the World.  Time has been somewhat of a paradox these past nine months - for the most part, the days, weeks, and months have flown by, but then at certain times of the pregnancy (like in July when I wanted to party with my friends or during these last 4 weeks when I've been so uncomfortable) it has dragged on longer than I could ever imagine.  Maybe it's because I have been at home for the past month, instead of making the trip back and forth to Quincy, but no matter how busy I am every day, all I can think about is when I will go into labor!

At my appointment last week, my doctor and I discussed being induced.  She normally has her patients go the full 40 weeks and then compares her "on-call" schedule for the week following your due date with that of the hospital's availability.  It just so happens that this is next Tuesday, and actually on my original due date!  So unless this turns into a 20+ hour labor, Calvin Bailey will be in our arms sometime on January 31!

Yesterday I was exhausted all day long and the only time I really got off of the couch was to go to dinner with Jonathan.  Then we rented a movie and just relaxed for the rest of the night.  Over the last week I have said, "Can you believe this is our last weekend without Calvin??" about 500 times... it's almost like it STILL hasn't quite sank in yet.  After lunch today, I had a burst of energy so I spent my afternoon cleaning the bathrooms (something I've been putting off for weeks).  I've got some more cleaning I want to get finished, but it will have to wait until after my doctor's appointment tomorrow because I am totally worn out.

This morning Jonathan asked me if Calvin had any Mizzou clothes that will fit him for Saturday's basketball game that we will be watching on TV.  All he has that will fit him is a bib, so we decided he could just wear that with a white t-shirt.  Well, today we ran to Target to get some last minute things we still needed and we found a little Mizzou sleeper on clearance for only $3.88! It was the last one, size 0-3 months, but even if it might be a little big, at least he will be geared up for Saturday!

Also, Calvin will get to see his first Super Bowl on Sunday.  I'm not too excited that the Giants made it, but we will watch nonetheless.  Mom will be in town Friday-Monday so after we get home from the hospital, it won't really feel like we've been thrown into this alone.  Mom can help me gain some confidence and help me out around the house while she's staying with us for our first weekend with the baby.  I'm looking forward to my last doctor's appointment tomorrow morning!!
